Does the Watermeter work with my analogue water meter and how do I install it?

The HomeWizard Watermeter works with most analogue water meters. The Watermeter is compatible with the brands: Zenner, Sensus, Itron, Actaris, Hidroconta, Schlumberger, Elster, Honeywell, Maddalena MVM, DH Metering and Diehl Metering. Check out the pictures below to see if your analogue water meter is compatible.

How do I install the Watermeter?

Step 1: Install the bracket

Inside the box you will find three different brackets and four different screws.

Take a look at the pictures below to check which bracket and screws you need for your analogue water meter and how to attach the bracket.

Zenner

Zenner water meters are compatible. Just attach bracket 2 and two screws (PS4/16).

Sensus (1)

There are two different Sensus meters which have different mountings. Check carefully which Sensus meter you have, so you can attach the bracket correctly.

The Sensus (1) water meters are compatible and attach with bracket 2 and two screws (PS2.6/8).

Sensus (2)

There are two different Sensus meters which have different mountings. Check carefully which Sensus meter you have, so you can attach the bracket correctly.

Sensus (2) water meters are compatible and attach with bracket 1 and two screws (PS2.6/8). If the lid of this Sensus water meter is in the way when installing the bracket, you can turn the inside of the water meter (it is separate from the outer casing).

Most Itron, Actaris, Hidroconta & Schlumberger meters have a cap on the screw point that can be broken out. See the image for an example of the three different caps. This water meter can also be black or blue in colour.

The Itron, Actaris, Hidroconta & Schlumberger water meters are compatible and attach with bracket 1 and two screws (M4/12).

Elster and Honeywell water meters are compatible and attach with bracket 1 and two screws (PS4/16).

The Diehl Metering water meters do not have any screw holes, you can click bracket 3 onto the water meter instead.

The DH Metering water meters are compatible and attach with bracket 2 and two screws (M2.5/12).

On the Maddalena MVM water meters, the bracket needs to be placed upside down. You need to hook the bracket on the left side of the water meter and screw it on the right (with one screw, P2.6/8). Make sure your analogue water meter has the option to do this.

Please note! The analogue water meter below is not compatible with our Watermeter.

Step 2: Power supply via cable or battery

Power the Watermeter. Connect the USB-C adapter to the Watermeter for real-time insight into your water consumption. No wall socket nearby? Then insert batteries (excl.) in the Watermeter and get insight into your water consumption four times a day.

Step 3: Place the Watermeter

Place the Watermeter inside the bracket by clicking it into the round opening.

Please note! Unfortunately, our products are not water- or moisture-resistant. Our products therefore do not have an IP rating. We therefore do not recommend installing them outdoors or in wells.

Having trouble with your Watermeter?

My Watermeter is not measuring (properly)

First, check that the Watermeter is placed tightly (correctly) on the analogue water meter. After this has been checked, recalibrate the Watermeter (draining 5L of water in the process).

Go to: Settings > Meters > Watermeter > options (three dots) → 'recalibrate sensors'.

My Watermeter shows a consistently wavy graph

In most cases, this means there is a leakage. Our Watermeter gives a signal every 300ml and thus a wave in the graph. You can check this by checking the reading of your analogue water meter in the evening and the next day and comparing these readings.
