Warning: Only install this device if you are familiar with electrical installations and the dangers they can impose. Disregarding the safety precautions can cause serious injuries

Installation

  • The kWh Meter is installed after the circuit breaker.

  • The top side of the kWh meter is connected to 230V~ from the breaker.

  • The bottom side of the meter is connected to the SOURCE of which you want to get insight into. Such as solar panels, a car charger, heat pump, mains connection etc.

Installation

Step 1 : Turn off power

Before beginning the installation ensure that incoming power is disabled. Remove the protection cap from the circuit breaker box and verify there is no power with tools intended for this purpose.

Step 2 : Mount the kWh Meter

Determine the breaker of the source you want to get insight into. Place the kWh Meter on the DIN-rail. Do not forget to click the kWh Meter in place using the black tab on the bottom.

Step 3 : Live wires of the source you want to get insight into

Attach the live wires (brown/grey/black) of the source to terminal 5/6/7 on the bottom of the kWh Meter.

Step 4 : Neutral wire of the source you want to get insight into

Attach the blue neutral wire of the source to terminal 8 at the bottom right of the kWh Meter.

Step 5 : Neutral wire between the breaker and kWh Meter

Use an additional wire to connect the neutral terminal on the breaker with terminal 4 (top right) on the kWh Meter. We recommend using 4mm copper wire for loads up to 32A.

Step 6 : Live wires between the breaker and kWh Meter

Use additional wires to connect the live terminals on the breaker with terminals 1/2/3 on the kWh Meter. We recommend using 4mm copper wire for loads up to 32A.

Step 7 : Check connections

Make sure all screws are tightened and pull every wire individually to ensure a strong connection is in place (2.5 - 3Nm).

Step 8 : Turn on power

Close the circuit breaker box with the protection cap and enable incoming electricity. The screen on the kWh Meter will now turn on. Installation complete!

Pairing mode

Press the wifi icon button on the kWh meter until the display shows 'AP' blinking. The kWh meter is now in pairing mode. If the AP mode stops blinking, retry.

In the HomeWizard Energy app go to Settings > Meters > Add new meter > kWh Meter and follow the instructions.
