By entering your own energy tariffs, each graph will show the corresponding costs. These costs are calculated as accurately as possible, but may differ from the actual costs on your energy bill. This feature is intended as an indication.
Where can I enter my tariffs?
You can find the tariff settings screen in the HomeWizard app under Settings (gear icon) > Tariffs. Here you will find the following options:
Starting month
Electricity
Gas
Water (only if you have a HomeWizard Watermeter or a connected digital water meter)
Starting month
Does your energy contract not run from January to December? Then adjust the starting month here. This way, the yearly graph starts from the starting month of your energy contract. Tap the month name in the top right corner and select the correct starting month.
Electricity
Here you can enter your electricity tariffs. Tap + add tariff to set the following:
Supplier: enter the name of your energy supplier.
Starting date: set the starting date of the tariff.
Electricity: if you have a fixed or variable contract, choose Fixed. If you have a dynamic contract (price per hour or per 15 minutes), choose Dynamic.
With Fixed, two fields are shown: standard rate and off-peak rate. You can find these on your energy bill or contract.
With Dynamic, you choose between an hourly or 15-minute price. This depends on your energy supplier. Then enter the other costs per kWh. You can find these in our price overview or on your supplier’s website or contract. Finally, set the VAT rate.
Below you will find more information about other costs for dynamic tariffs.
When everything is filled in, tap Save in the top right corner.
You can enter multiple tariffs with different starting dates. The costs shown in a graph are always calculated based on the tariffs that apply to the selected period.
Gas
Here you can enter your gas tariffs. Tap + add tariff to set the following:
Supplier: enter the name of your energy supplier in.
Starting date: set the starting date of the tariff.
Gas: if you have a fixed or variable contract, choose Fixed. If you have a dynamic contract (price per day), choose Dynamic.
With Fixed, two fields are shown: standard rate and off-peak rate. You can find these on your energy bill or contract. Enter the total costs per m³ for the most accurate calculation.
With Dynamic, the daily price per m³ is fetched automatically. You only need to enter the other costs per m³. You can find these in our price overview or on your supplier’s website or contract. Then enter the VAT rate.

Other costs for dynamic pricing
What are other costs?
These are costs you pay to your energy supplier on top of the basic market price per kWh or m³. These include energy tax, imbalance costs, national transport, Guarantees of Origin (GvO), access to market prices and CO₂ compensations. This is a fixed amount per kWh or m³.
How is a dynamic price structured?
Dynamic pricing consists of the basic daily, hourly or 15-minute rate + other costs + VAT.
Example: if the basic hourly electricity rate is €0.28, the other costs are €0.12 per kWh and VAT is 21%, the total electricity price is (0.28 + 0.12) × 1.21 = €0.484 per kWh. The HomeWizard app calculates this automatically every hour.
How do I know the other costs?
You can calculate the other costs yourself. You will need:
The sales price per kWh for that hour or 15 minutes, or the sales price per m³ for that day (including taxes), which you can find in your supplier’s app.
The basic price per kWh for that hour or 15 minutes, or the basic price per m³ for that day. You can find this in the HomeWizard app when entering tariffs.
The VAT percentage.
Example for electricity: with a sales price of €0.484 per kWh, 21% VAT and a basic kWh price of €0.28, the calculation is: (0.484 ÷ 1.21) − 0.28 = €0.12 other costs per kWh.
We recommend calculating with at least three decimal places to avoid rounding differences.
