How do I connect the Plug-In Battery in combination with a kWh Meter?
We recommend using the Plug-In Battery in combination with a P1 Meter. That is the easiest way to install. If that’s not possible? You can also control the Plug-In Battery with a HomeWizard kWh Meter.
Use a 1-phase or 3-phase kWh Meter connected to your main connection. Link it in the HomeWizard app and select the 'Home mains' profile when adding it. After that, you can place and install the Plug-In Battery according to the instructions above.
What is the maximum number of Plug-In Batteries I can connect?
You can connect up to 4 Plug-In Batteries. Want to know more about this? Click here.
Can I connect the Plug-In Battery to a power strip or extension cord?
We do not recommend connecting the Plug-In Battery to a power strip or extension cord. If you connect several high-power devices to a power strip, the strip or plug may become too hot. These are often not designed for long-term and daily high power consumption.
Where is the best place to put the battery?
Place the Plug-In Battery in a frost-free and safe location inside your home. Do not put the battery in direct sunlight. Popular locations include the attic, landing, basement, garage, central heating room, or utility room. We do not recommend placing the Plug-In Battery in a location that must remain clear in case of emergencies, such as escape routes. The Plug-In Battery cannot be placed outside.
How much space should I leave around my Plug-In Battery?
10 cm on the sides and 50 cm on top. If you stack multiple Plug-In Batteries on top of each other, the same applies with 50 cm of space above the top unit.
Can I place the Plug-In Battery outside?
No, the Plug-In Battery is not suitable for outdoor use. Sunlight, humidity, and sub-zero temperatures negatively affect the battery's operation, lifespan, and safety. Most home batteries placed outside are actively heated to prevent them from freezing, which only costs extra power.
How does stacking multiple Plug-In Batteries work?
If you want to stack multiple Plug-In Batteries on top of each other, you can. The Plug-In Battery packaging includes a wall bracket. Attach it to the top Plug-In Battery and to the wall. This prevents them from tipping over. Want to know more about installing multiple Plug-In Batteries? You can read about that in this article.
